Barring few non progressive sections of society, everybody including theeminent personalities like Sir Chhotu Ram of those times helped in evolving Gurukul Khanpur Kalan into a centreof excellence for girls' education. Owing to his extraordinary interest in women's education Shri Bhupinder SinghHooda, the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana upgraded the erstwhile Gurukul to the status of a Universityexclusively for women in August 2006 and christened it as Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, (hereafterreferred as BPSMV) the first State Women University of North India.Since its inception in August 2006, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya has earned its place of 'universitywith a difference' in the arena of higher education..
