Rediscover
a proven and tested
timber species
Oregon-Pine
The softwood
with the highest
natural durability

North American Douglas Fir is one of the most sought-after
timber species in the United States. The trunks that initially
all originated from primeval forests allow a production of
flawless cut timber of far greater dimensions than those from
the most similar European types pine and larch.
Thanks to this benefit, Douglas Fir is used also in Germany,
a traditional pinewood consumer country, for special applica-
tions.
The qualities and dimensions of the exported timber fol-
low the specifications of the Export R List of the Pacific
Lumber Inspection Bureau. Cut timber for the biggest
part, practically free from knots and sapwood, typical
thicknesses between 40 and 150 mm, widths between 7.5
and 35.5 cm and lengths between 1.8 and 11 m, optio-
nally with upright (edged grain) or vertical annual rings.
The imported timber still originates from old growth
stands of premium quality independently of its shape.
With an annual ring width of about 1 to 3 mm, Douglas
Fir is among the hardest softwood species and, conse-
quently, offers adequate strength properties.
Range of application
Large sizes, high withstand capability and favourable
strength properties combined with a relatively low
weight make this timber species particularly suitable for
constructive tasks involving exact fitting such as frame,
door and window manufacturing, construction of stairs,
