General IntroductionAll Optibelt V-Belts are manufactured withcarefully chosen raw materials utilisingcontinually updated manufacturing methods.The modernisation of production processes,large scale laboratory testing, and thecareful control of the basic materials willguarantee a consistent quality for everyOptibelt power transmission component.Product function, efficiency and durabilityare of major importance to Optibelt.CharacteristicsOil resistantThe oil resistant cover of the belt protectsit from contamination by mineral oil/ greasesplash. Contamination by animal orvegetable oil or water solvent cutting oilwill reduce belt life. In extreme cases theuse of special construction XOR is recommended.Heat resistantStandard construction Optibelts will operatein ambient temperatures up to+70°C/ +158 °F.Higher ambient temperatures will lead topremature ageing and subsequent beltfailure. In this case our special constructionXHR is recommended.Cold resistantStandard construction Optibelt V-Beltswill perform satisfactorily in ambient temperaturesdown to- 40 °C / - 40 °F for wrapped construction and- 30 °C / - 22 °F for raw edge construction.Under critical conditions practical testsare necessary.Anti staticIn order to comply with product safetyrequirements the specific Anti Static propertiesof any V-Belts must be tested toISO 1813. A test certificate will be issuedand a 20% surcharge will be applied.Anti Static V-Belts should be specifiedseparately to ensure that the correct certificationis carried out (EN 10204 „3.1.B”).Special ConstructionsThe following are examples of surchargesapplicable to special construction.Smooth running - LR 20%Extra oil resistant - XOR 20%Extra heat resistant - XHR 20%V-Belts withPatterned Top Surface - PKR 200%Prices for other constructions on request.Observance of special tolerances will becharged according to actual cost.Non standard Lengths andSpecial Constructions forWrapped V-BeltsIn the event that fewer production setsthan normal are required for a particularspecial construction wrapped belt (normal-3production sets) then the followingsurcharges apply:2 production sets 20 % surcharge1 production set 40 % surchargePlease note that minimum production setquantities may vary for certain specialconstruction belts.
