policy is to establish equitable and educationally sound placement of allstudents, including students with disabilities, in every classroom.”“Monitoring class size will occur periodically to ensure compliance with ourdistrict’s policy.”“Education placement decisions for all students, including students withdisabilities, shall be made based on the instructional needs of the students.”Education placement decisions for students with disabilities are made by theschool Individual Education Plan (IEP) team.<strong>Student</strong> Access to Electronic Media“The Board supports the right of students to have reasonable access tovarious information formats and believes it incumbent upon students to usethis privilege in an appropriate and responsible manner.”4.406“The Director of <strong>Schools</strong> shall develop and implement appropriate proceduresto provide guidance for student access to electronic media. Guidelines shalladdress ethical use of electronic media (such as Internet) and issues ofprivacy versus administrative review of the electronic files andcommunications and shall prohibit utilization of networks for prohibited orillegal activities, the intentional spreading of embedded messages or the useof other programs with the potential of damaging or destroying programs ordata.”“Written parental permission shall be required prior to the student beinggranted independent access to electronic telecommunications, including theInternet involving district technological resources. The requiredpermission/agreement form, which shall specify acceptable uses, rules of onlinebehavior, access privileges and penalties for policy/procedural violations,must be signed by the parent/legal guardian of minor students (those under18 years of age) and also by the student. This document shall be kept on fileas a legal, binding document. In order to modify or rescind the agreement, thestudent's parent/guardian (or the student who is at least 18 years old) mustprovide the Director of <strong>Schools</strong> with a written request.”The procedures established by the Director of <strong>Schools</strong> are available at the linkto the right.<strong>Student</strong> Schedules“A full-time class load for high school students (grades 9-12) is defined as 7hours attendance at school (usually for six class periods and one study hall orseven class periods). The school principal has the discretion, on an individualstudent basis, to reduce the hours attended at school for a student based onthe guidelines established in Board Policy 4.6052.”Testing Programs“The Director of <strong>Schools</strong> or designee shall provide for a system wide testingprogram which shall be periodically reviewed and evaluated.
