<strong>Job</strong> <strong>Description</strong> <strong>Outline</strong>JOB TITLE: <strong>Inside</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> <strong>Representative</strong>DEPARTMENT: MarketingSTATUS: ExemptREPORTS TO: Territory ManagerPOSITION SUMMARY:<strong>The</strong> <strong>Inside</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> <strong>Representative</strong> <strong>will</strong> <strong>work</strong> under moderate supervision to build and growdesignated accounts; achieving overall sales goals as set forth by J&J and AMIG. Thisposition <strong>will</strong> be responsible for growing the business with established and newlyappointed agents, as well as actively qualify leads.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:RESPONSIBILITIES: (% OF TIME)1. Agency Growth Management (80%) – Responsible for prospect calls toassigned accounts to aid account growth by increasing market penetration andproduct offering. <strong>The</strong> individual in this position <strong>will</strong> be responsible for knowingRegional/State <strong>Sales</strong> Strategies. Ultimately responsible for growing assignedaccounts to the established goals set by the Territory Manager.2. Training and Development (15%) – <strong>The</strong> <strong>Inside</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> Rep <strong>will</strong> be responsiblefor learning and demonstrating a strong knowledge of J&J and AMIG products.This position <strong>will</strong> be responsible to know the conversion process with AMIG andsetting up new agents and on-boarding new accounts with the Modern Linkwebsite. This position <strong>will</strong> be required to <strong>work</strong> with new accounts to assist withrolling books of business and training agents on web access for both J&J andAMIG websites.3. External Account Development (5%) – <strong>The</strong> <strong>Inside</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> Rep <strong>will</strong> accompanyoutside reps with travel and blitzes when necessary. <strong>The</strong>y <strong>will</strong> also assist inbusiness development plans, and other strategic imperatives. This position <strong>will</strong><strong>work</strong> with the Marketing Team to make preliminary calls to qualify leads4. Achieve objectives for production and profitability on assigned accounts,including objectives related to written premium, loss ratio, retention, pricing, andservice.5. Weekly Reporting of sales calls and activities planned and completed6. Any other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:One to three years of customer service and/or sales experience preferred. A bachelor’sdegree is preferred or any combination of education and experience to be successful inthe position. Previous insurance experience is a plus.KSAs:• Must be able to <strong>work</strong> independently, Self-starter, Motivated by success• Ability to obtain sales via telephone• Technical competencies in Microsoft Office Suite• Strong negotiation skills• Excellent time management skills• Strong relationship building skills• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written• Demonstrated and proven presentation skills, creativity• Dedication to excellent customer service• Professional attitude and approach, business-like appearance• Organized and efficient with good attention to detail• A thorough understanding of the current property & casualty insurance marketSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: noneEQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Standard Office Machinery & vehicle .TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires ability to sit or stand for long periods of time,occasional stooping, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires normalrange of vision and hearing.TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:Requires the ability to think critically, choose the most effective course of action for theorganization, handle multiple priorities on a daily basis, Must be able to resolve problems,handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Requires the ability to <strong>work</strong>under stress.WORKING CONDITIONS:Responsibilities <strong>will</strong> dictate <strong>work</strong>load and schedule and <strong>will</strong> require overtime and oddschedule to ensure deadlines and effective dates are met, to attend association meetings,conferences and overnight travel.
