<strong>Sochi</strong>’s path to Olympic Gameshost city had none of the necessary venues completed for the event or none of thenecessary Olympic venues were at the last stage of construction.Subsequently, the IOC had to make numerous statements trying to justify itschoice to host <strong>2014</strong> Winter Olympics in <strong>Sochi</strong>, where nothing was ready for theGames at the moment of choosing a host city.
