The candidate who takes the entrance exam for the Ph.D. and does not get a seatallotment for the Ph.D. can opt for an M.Phil degree which can lead to a Ph.D.. Asuccessful M.Phil candidate will be exempted from the entrance test for the Ph.D.The students who have cleared UGC /CSIR (JRF) Examinations/NET/SET/GATE/ JEST are exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test.There will be two papers:Paper – I and II. Examination will be conducted by respective UniversityDepartments. Paper I will be common for all subjects.Paper 1: General Aptitude Test which will have 100 questions withmultiple choice covering Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, AnalyticalReasoning General knowledge and Language Aptitude.(Examination time 2:00 hrs)(Examination Time 10:00 to 12:00)Paper II: Subject Specific Test: This paper will be also of 100marks which will be bifurcated into 30 marks as objective andremaining 70 as descriptive questions.(Examination time 3:00 hrs)(Examination Time 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)The entrance examination paper II will be evaluated by the concerned departmentof the University. Paper I which is of MCQ type will be evaluated by OMRprocedure.The passing percentage will be 50% aggregate.A merit list of the successful candidates will be declared by the university. Theresult will be made available online on the university website.Passing the entrance examination does not give guarantee to a student to beregistered for Ph.D. programme.

The entrance examination result will be valid for two years from the date ofpassing.A Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- drawn in favor of ‘The Registrar KSKV KachchhUniversity’ Must be attached with the prescribed form if it is downloaded fromthe University Website. The form is also made available at the academic section(Room no. 107) on payment of Rs. 550/- .
