Engine Cranking Signal (STA)
STA is a digital signal which is used by the
ECU to determine if the engine is being
cranked. The signal is generated at the ST1
terminal of the ignition switch and is used by
the ECU primarily to increase fuel injection
volume during cranking.
The STA circuit is wired to the ECU as shown
in the diagram. The ECU will sense cranking
voltage at the STA terminal whenever the
ignition is switched to the "start" position as
long as the neutral or clutch switch is closed.
