IRONWOOD RIDGE HIGH SCHOOLPyramid of InterventionsIronwood Ridge High School is a learning community where students acceptresponsibility for their unique growth, where consistently rigorous and relevantinstruction fosters each student’s unique potential, and where positive relationshipspromote individual growth and achievement. The IRHS Vision StatementInevitably, every student taking on the challenge of a rigorous curriculum will needadditional support to achieve academic success. In these situations, the student has a responsibility to seek and utilize the assistance theirfamily, Ironwood Ridge High School, and the Amphitheater school district provide. The Ironwood Ridge High School staff, including teachers, counselors, supportspecialists, and administrators, also have a responsibility to identify students needingadditional assistance and to work with those students to provide the support they needfor academic success.Intervention begins when IRHS faculty, student or parent identifies a student need.Certainly, failing grades indicate a need for intervention. However, intervention servicescan also be utilized by students who would like to perform at a higher level of success.Once a need is identified, the student should engage in a reflective conversation toidentify the causes of the need and the best intervention to address that need. In manycases, this conversation will be initiated by IRHS faculty, however, students and parentscan also take the initiative to begin the intervention process. The Pyramid of Interventions then serves as a guide to intervention services andpossibilities available through Ironwood Ridge High School and the AmphitheaterSchool District
