The General Assembly convenes in regularsession annually on the second Monday in January. Withtwo exceptions, all bills may originate in either the Senate orthe House of Representatives, but all bills must be passed byboth branches and signed by the Governor before becominglaw. The exceptions are bills raising revenue and bills thatappropriate money, which can originate only in the House. Inthe event of the Governor's veto of any bill during a session,the bill can be overridden by two-thirds majority vote inboth houses.32 State of Georgia's Budget Report FY 2010
