Safe, comfo-rtable, and clean spa wateris a fairly simple task to achieve, but it doesrequire regular attention because of the numerousfactors that can alter it. There is no one formula tobe followed because of the variables, i.e. qualityof the water used to fill the spa, water temperature, user load, etc. For specific guidelines forwater quality maintenance, consult your vrrASPA dealer who can assist you to develop a programbased on your specific needs. Disregard forwater maintenance will result in poor soakingconditions, damage your spa investment and possiblyvoid your warranty.i water maintenance consl5t5 of threeseparate, easily developed programs:1. Sanitizing and maintaining a safe level of sanitizerin the spa water.2. Balancing the pH and maintaining the recommendedmineral content level.3. Achieving and maintaining water clarity.SANlnZINGTo destroy bacteria and organic compounds in thespa water, a sanitizer must be used regularly. Theuse of a bromine floater is recommended. By regulatingthe amount of tablets, the amount thefloater is open, and the length of the filtrationcycles, you can control the amount of bromine inyour spa. A bromine residual of 2 to 3 ppm is generallyconsidered desirable. A two-part brominesystem or granular chlorine ( dichlor) are alsoacceptable sanitizers.pH CO.mOLpH is a measure of acidity and alkalinity of thespa water. The recommended pH for spa water is7.4 to 7.6 ppm. Below 7.0 ( considered neutral), thespa water is acidic and can cause damage to theheating system. Above 7.8 the water is too alkalineand can result in cloudy water and scale formationon the spa shell, heater and cover.IMPORTANT: NEVER USE CHLORINETABLETS (TRICHLOR) I. YOUR SPA.This chemical can have an extremely corrosiveeffect on certain materials in the spa. Also, the useof liquids, chlorine or acid, are not recommended.Damage caused by use of these chemicals, orimproper use of any chemical, is not coveredunder the spa warranty. ;OPTIONAL VlTAZONE WATERPURIFlCAnON 8'iaTEMH you have elected to equip your spa with theoptional VITAZONE ozone water purification systern, you will find that your water stays fresh andclean with significantly less usage of chemical sanitizerand you will also be able to go longerbetween spa draining. Read and follow theinstructions included with your VITAZONEozone water purification system to determine howto adjust your chemical usage and filter cycles.[!!]
