SensistorILS500Leak Detection SystemHydrogen Leak Testing with gas handlingand tooling control

TYPICAL TEST PROCEDURETestpressureThe described sequence gives a brief presentation ofSensistor ILS500 in action. The test set-up includes:■ test chamber with tooling for the test component■ proximity switch indicating correct positioning of the testcomponent■ pneumatic actuators with proximity switches for sealing andplugging the test component■ AP29ECO Sampling Probe taking gas samples from thechamber■ bottle of forming gas (5% hydrogen and 95% nitrogen) astracer gastest stepsPressureTooling connection. The test sequence starts by activatingthe pneumatic tooling outputs, thereby pressing the gasconnectors and plugs towards the test object.A. Pre-evacuation and gross leak testTo facilitate the tracer gas filling, the test object is preevacuated.Optional procedures are available to detect grossleaks making further testing unnecessary.B. Tracer gas filling and blockage testThe test object is filled with hydrogen tracer gas to a specifiedpressure. Any eventual internal blockage in the test object isdetected.C. Tracer gas testThe leak test starts by measuring the occurrence of tracer gasin the test chamber during a specified time interval.D. Manual leak locating (option - needsSensistor ILS500 CP)If the test result is “fail,” it is possible to continue with a manualleak search using the hand probe for exact pinpointing.1A. B. C. D. E.TimeE. Tracer gas evacuation and toolingdisconnectionIf the tracer gas test result is “pass,” the ILS500 starts theevacuation of tracer gas and the disconnection of the gasconnectors. Any tracer gas in the test chamber is easilyventilated away as the chamber is opened.AccessoriesWith a broad range of accessories, the SENSISTOR ILS500 can easily beadapted to any leak testing situation.Pk50 Hand ProbeA standard accessory to ILS500 andILS500 CP. Robust and ergonomic handprobe allows exact pinpointing of theleak. Simple sensor change in a matter ofseconds.C21 Probe cablesIn lengths of 3, 6 and 9 meters (9.8, 19.6and 29.5 ft.) for a variety of test situations.External Control PanelThe External Control Panelwith Emergency Stopcombines flexibility and safetyand gives the operator fullfreedom of movement.AP29ECO Sampling probeFor automatic leak testing of entireproducts or parts of products. It takessamples from the test chamber or localtest point and analyzes them.Reference leaksFor calibration and function tests of theSensistor ILS500.
