Dear Reader,
Case IH tractors and harvesting
machinery are in greater demand
than ever before, and the feedback I
receive from customers suggests solid
manufacturing, excellent reliability
and innovative technology such as our
EfficientPower concept are key reasons
behind their purchasing decisions.
Never before in the steeped-in-tradition
company history of Case IH have we
offered a product line providing such
leading innovation, and over the past 18 months we have introduced, across
all of our tractor ranges, numerous new technologies that are already proving
their worth by reducing machinery costs through reduced fuel consumption
and increased machine productivity on farms worldwide.
These product innovations provided the foundations for our record 2011
turnover, which exceeded that of 2008, our previous best year. Worldwide,
Case IH turnover was around US$ 6 billion, with sales growth of 25 per cent
over the previous year. While much of this was due the brand’s performance
in North America, equally impressive were strong results from Europe, where
more than 16,000 Case IH tractors and harvesting equipment have been sold.
Demand remains high, particularly in the 200hp+ tractor segment, and at all
our factories production is at full capacity.
At the same time, sales of Case IH harvesting equipment grew by 15 per cent
and, to further meet our customers‘ needs, we are continuing our development
strategy during 2012.
Whilst high-output tractors and combines are a Case IH speciality, we are also
committed to meeting the needs of smaller farms, as illustrated by the recent
introduction of a number of new Farmall tractor series.
Through its Advanced Farming System and associated technology, Case
IH has long been a leader in precision farming and in this sector we have
new developments in the pipeline which will bring genuine economic
benefits to those who invest in them. Meanwhile, our products are backed
with innovative new service concepts such as individual maintenance and
service packages matched to the respective machine. Two years on from the
introduction of the 24-hour telephone response MAX Service concept, this
has been extended with a new dimension with the AFS Connect telematics
system, able to transfer machine operating data to service staff and allowing
them to assess and analyse machine performance so they can to react to and, if
necessary, repair any issues much more quickly. At our factory and European
headquarters in St. Valentin we are constructing a new training and visitor
centre, where Case IH sales and service staff will be able to use the latest and
most advanced technology in their training, and visitors will enjoy a unique
experience coming to the St. Valentin plant. Take a moment to read through
