SERVICESCable TelevisionAll residence hall rooms are provided with 80-plus channels <strong>of</strong> cable television (residents must bring owntelevision). Complete information about the cable television service can be found athttp://reslife.tamu.edu/livingOnCampus/amenities/cabletv. Students wishing to purchase premiumservices such as HBO and TiVo should contact CampusTelevideo (CTV) athttp://www.campustelevideo.com. If students decide to purchase premium services, these services arepaid for every semester directly to CTV.Internet ConnectionsResNet (Residential Network) allows connection to the internet as well as other campus resources. Eachresidence hall room has two high-speed network connections to ResNet. In addition to the wiredconnections in each room, wireless connectivity to ResNet is available in some <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Residence</strong> Halls.Connecting to ResNet requires network cable to connect the computer to the room’s network connectionor in those halls supporting wireless access a computer that supports wireless access. For Fall 2012, thefollowing residence halls will have wireless: Appelt, Aston, Dunn, Hughes, Keathley, Lechner,McFadden, Moses, Rudder, Schuhmacher, Underwood, and Wells Additionally, the Leadership LearningCenter will have wireless access. Wireless connections are being phased-in and eventually all residencehalls and <strong>corps</strong> halls will have it. For more information and technical support, contact the <strong>Texas</strong> A&MComputing and Information Services (CIS) Help Desk Central (979-845-8300) or select Student Servicesat http://it.tamu.edu. The only Corps Dorm currently without wireless service is Gainer Hall – Dorm 5.Laundry ServiceSpence, Briggs, and Harrell each have a laundry available for the cadets who live in those buildings. Forcadets living in buildings that do not have a laundry room, the nearest laundry facility available for cadetuse is the Dormitory Services Building adjacent to the Adams Band Hall. The cost to use a washing ordrying unit is included in the cadets’ rent for each semester. As such, cadets do not need to worry aboutcoin-operated units. Cadets must furnish their own laundry supplies. The area has been secured withkeyless entry. You will need your student ID to access the facility. Access to the facility is restricted tocurrently enrolled cadets. Providing access to an individual not identified as a currently enrolled cadetmay lead to disciplinary action and criminal charges.Requests for washer/dryer repair should be made to Mac-Gray at 1-800-MAC-GRAY (622-4729). Theywill need the machine number (found on the front <strong>of</strong> the machine) and location.Dry cleaning services are also available through an on-campus facility owned and operated by FabricCare Cleaners (a <strong>University</strong> contracted vendor).Lock-OutsIf the occasion arises that a student is locked out <strong>of</strong> their room, contact the Guard Room at (979) 845-6789 (open 24 hours a day when the <strong>University</strong> is open) or the Commandant’s Duty Officer (after 5:00pm and on weekends) via cell phone at (979) 229-5826. Charges may be applied to a student’s bill aftermultiple lock-outs.The use <strong>of</strong> force to open a door as a result <strong>of</strong> a lock-out or lock malfunction is strictly prohibited. A cadetwho knowingly and intentionally forces a door open to gain entry is in direct violation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Texas</strong> A&Mstudent rules and will be disciplined and charged for the damage.Cadet Resident Handbook (2014-2015) 6
