Offshore Transport & InstallationDockwise uses semi-submersible, heavy lift vessels to lower offshorestructures onto pre-installed jackets on the seabed or onto floatinghulls. The float-over deck installation is a reliable means of installingassets, especially in remote locations and harsher environments such asWest Africa and Western Australia. Offshore integration costs can also bereduced, especially for deck weights in excess of 10,000 metric tons. Our full service, in-house engineering capabilities enable us to focus oncomplete logistical transportation and installation management acrossthe globe.Onshore Transport & InstallationIn addition to float-over installation technology, Dockwise combinesmarine transport with onshore modular project discharge andinstallation. This means modular built onshore projects can betransported from the fabrication yard to final inland destinations withone single contract and one single contractor, Dockwise. Dockwisemanages the complete modular project logistics by supervisingtransportation and integration to its final destination. The module to be installed inWest African swell conditionswas the 12,400 metric tonGX-deck. Dockwise semisubmersiblevessel Transshelfcarried the deck across theglobe from Ulsan, Korea to offthe coast of Nigeria. For the transport and float-overinstallation of a large18,000 metric ton integratedproduction deck (East AreaProject), the Black Marlin had tobe substantially converted. The deck left Korea and wasinstalled during a 3 dayoperation offshore Nigeria.

Transport & InstallationSince 1993 Dockwise has been developing innovative float-oversolutions by utilizing semi-submersible, self-propelled, heavy transportvessels for float-over and deck-mating operations. Dockwise’s very ownin-house engineering and dedicated project management capabilitiesenable us to work with clients to develop the safest and most reliablesolutions. Our marine scope includes load-out operations andtransportation from the construction site to the field. The fully integratedtopside is floated onto a pre-installed jacket.Advantages of using a Dockwise semi-submersible, self-propelled,heavy transport vessel for float-over and deck-mating operations are:•Significant reduction in transportation time - avg. vessel speed 12 knotsSmooth Sailing – Ocean Monitoring allows the Master to reduceaccelerations during transportRisk Analysis reduces contingencies during transportationFlexible worldwide deployment of floating equipmentIncreased maneuverability positioning between the jackets•Fully integrated ballast systemsDockwise vessels are capable of handling structures weighingup to 45,000 metric tonsExecuted float-over projects2003: TOTALELF Amenam (11,200 metric tons)2003: CONOCOPHILLIPS Bayu-Undan (11,500 metric tons)2003: CONOCOPHILLIPS Bayu-Undan (13,900 metric tons)2005: PDVSA Corocoro WHP (1,500 metric tons)2005: EXXONMOBIL EAP GN-deck (18,000 metric tons)2007: EXXONMOBIL EAP GX-deck (14,500 metric tons)2008: WOODSIDE Angel (8,000 metric tons)Future float-over projects2009: CPOC Block B-17 (16,000 metric tons)2010: TOTAL OFON (12,000 metric tons)2010/2011: GAZFLOT Vyborg (2 x 22,000 metric tons)2011 PTTEP Bongkot (16,000 metric tons)BREDADockwise HQ: Project Management, Transport Engineering, Marine andStructural Engineering, Procurement and OperationsSHENZENOcean Dynamics China (ODC): Structural Engineering (vessel deck lay-out)HOUSTONOcean Dynamics (ODL): Float-Over EngineeringOffshore Kinematics (OKI): Engineering, Fabrication and Delivery of offshoreinstallation aidsThe Woodside Angel Topsidefloat-over, contracted by CloughAker Joint Venture. Installationunder the direction of thecontract party CAJV.
