Determining the Projected Track LengthIn order to determine theLET that a particle had <strong>from</strong>its track image, we need toestimate the projected tracklength. We know thethickness of the sensor andwe can measure the energyloss by summing the pixels inthe cluster…The method chose forreal-time processing is to doa selective subtraction ofpixels to determine the “core”length and “skirt” width.
