4 Products Screening fabrics for hatcheries and ponds Successful application for hatcheries and ponds require narrow mesh grading combined with a large product range. The in- and outlets of raceway channels and ponds are secured by fine-meshed sluice screens. This protection avoids the invasion of carnivorous or nutrientcompeting organisms and prevents the escape of the animals being cultured. The screening technique is an essential prerequisite for a successful tidal pond operation in marine aquaculture – which contributes to the main part of shrimp and bivalve production. Sefar offers also material for these specific heavy duty requirements and the appropriate technique and equipment to fix the fabric to the screen frames. For hatchery screening fabrics for descaling sieves, landing-nets and dip-nets, sluice screens and feed size separation are used.
Water purification Sefar fabrics are applied in one or several layers as «pre-filters» in order to clean the inflowing water of fish farms or hatcheries. The most simple version of these filters are the so-called «filter-stockings» which are directly attached to the water inlet pipes of fish tanks or ponds. Such filters can easily be cleaned or changed once or several times a day and at lowest cost.
