Brief history and context of its formation.Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer Pusad wasestablished in 19--. The office falls under department of revenue andforests Government of Maharashtra. For administrative purposes thestate of Maharashtra has been divided into five revenue divisions. TheAmravati revenue division is of one of them. This office is in theYavatmal district of this division and consists of geographical areas ofPusad Mahagaon & Umarkhed talukas. It is under direct control of theCollector of Yavatmal district.Basic object of this office is to have a control andsupervision of the office of tahsildars and talukas executive magistratesof Pusad Maregaon and Zari tahsils. It also serves as a gatewaybetween office of the collector Yavatmal and the office of the tehsildarat Pusad Mahagaon & Umarkhed. The office is located at Tahsil Office,Pusad in the tehsil building. This office handles or supervises all thematters basically relating to land, law and order, collection of landrevenue, public distribution system for food grains and kerosene,issuance of certificates like caste, non creamy-layer, nationality, landacquisition, minor minerals and conversion of land-use. Besides workingunder powers and duties vested under various acts this office also actsas a coordinating agency at sub-division level for all other governmentand semi-government offices.
