TRAIN CONNECTION
Train Connection from Munich Airport to Salzburg HBF (Main Station)
• “Deutsche Bahn” (http://www.bahn.de), the public German railway company offers a so-called
“Bayernticket”. This is a special ticket which costs Euro 28,00 for up to five persons and Euro 20,00
for a single person. It allows you to use all regional trains (RE) within Bavaria for one day. This
includes also the Austrian train station in Salzburg , which is close to the German border as well as
the local city transport in Munich. Hence, also the S-Bahn (S) from Munich Airport to the train
station. The “Bayernticket” can be not used for Intercity (IC) and Eurocity trains (EC). The price for
a regular ticket is between Euro 28,50 and Euro 37,00 for a single person from Munich Airport to
Salzburg Main Station.
• Intercity trains need about 2:20 from Munich Airport to Salzburg HBF, Regional trains need about
2:40-3:00.
