ALMEIDA PROJECTS<strong>Almeida</strong> Projects draws on the expertise of some of the most exciting theatre artistsin the UK and brings them together with our community partners, promotinginnovative creative exchange between the <strong>Almeida</strong> and Islington.SICK!@SCHOOLWe set our third season off with our firstever production created by and for youngpeople in Islington. Last year’s productionof SICK! - a cut down version of Molieres<strong>The</strong> Hypochondriac - offered a uniqueopportunity for hundreds of eleven year oldsfrom our partner schools in Islington to seeexhilerating theatre created especially forthem.Students from Highbury Grove School arriving at the <strong>Almeida</strong> to see SICK!(Photograph by Bridget Jones)<strong>The</strong> production was perfromed by a cast of professionals atthe <strong>Almeida</strong> in November 2005 and is now being restagedand redesigned with the orignal cast and creative teamalongside year 7, 10 and year 11 students as part of anongoing initiative to aid the transition from primary tosecondary school.Daniela Mangiapane and Anton Garneys were part of the team ofIslington students who helped devise SICK! in August 2005.(Photograph: Lara Platman)“Thank you very much for letting us see the playSICK!
