DBHDD contracts with providers throughoutthe state <strong>of</strong> Georgia to provide outpatient <strong>and</strong>residential substance abuse treatment forwomen. Currently DBHDD has 17 outpatient<strong>and</strong> 20 residential providers.The <strong>Ready</strong> for <strong>Work</strong> (RFW) Programs aredesigned to eliminate substance abuse as abarrier to employment for pregnant <strong>and</strong> parentingwomen, provide an array <strong>of</strong> servicesthat address risk factors for relapse <strong>and</strong> thatenable consumers to achieve abstinence,maintain ongoing recovery, avoid illegal activity,maintain suitable employment, obtain safehousing following discharge, <strong>and</strong> meet familyroles <strong>and</strong> responsibilities. The RFW targetpopulation is pregnant <strong>and</strong> parenting womenwith children under the age <strong>of</strong> 13 years oldwith substance abuse disorders. RFW programsalso provide services for women whoare at high risk for relapse, are sufficientlymedically stable to participate in intensive outpatient<strong>and</strong> residential treatment, <strong>and</strong> whomay have one or more <strong>of</strong> the following riskfactors:Pregnant women will be given prioritystatus.Highest priority is given to women whomeet the needy families definition;Women that have had involvement withthe criminal justice systemWomen who have a history <strong>of</strong> relapse;<strong>and</strong>/or secondary medical or psychiatricdisorder that can be safely managed in asubstance abuse treatment environment;Women with an open child protective servicecase.Evidence Based Practices Treatment Modalities<strong>and</strong> Curriculums are used by gender specific licensed<strong>and</strong> certified staff to engage the womenin the services provided by the RFW programsthroughout the state <strong>of</strong> Georgia.
