Insert EconomyThe Insert Economy is designed for(PE, PB, PVC etc.) pipes dimensionedaccording to DIN 8074. The insertcan be installed in these pipes aslong as they are within the allowedproduction tolerances. In order tosecure a sufficient support to thepipe, the (nominal) diameter of theinsert is just below the nominalinside diameter of the pipe. Thismeans that when the pipe isproduced at its biggest tolerance, it“falls in”, supported by the dimples. When the pipe is produced at itslowest tolerance, you need someextra force to put in the insert. Butthis extra force should be no morethan can be achieved with a hammer. The Insert Economy is available forvarious SDR-sizes. To guaranteethe correct working of the insert, the use is limited to pipes up toDN300. Above this dimension, theproduction tolerances become such, that sufficient support is no longerguaranteed. For inserts bigger thanDN300, we offer the inserts withwedge.Insert with wedgeThe insert with wedge is intendedfor pipes with larger productiontolerances and pipes producedaccording to unknown standards, andis available up to DN800. The wedgeconstruction offers a small tolerance, overcoming minor dimensiondifferences of the pipe. Afterpositioning the insert, the wedge ishammered in, to fix the insert. Afterthat the top end of the remainingwedge has to be sawed off.Insert EconomyInsert with wedge192
