Office <strong>of</strong> the Dean <strong>of</strong> StudentsInstructions for Undergraduate <strong>Readmission</strong>• If you have enrolled as a degree-seeking c<strong>and</strong>idate at another college since last attending The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>William</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>,you must contact the Office <strong>of</strong> Admissions (221-4223) to reapply to the <strong>College</strong>. Do not use this form.• The <strong>College</strong> is unable to process applications which are not received three weeks prior to the first day <strong>of</strong> classes. Studentswho were medically withdrawn should allow at least four weeks for the clearance process <strong>and</strong> readmission.• You must be in good st<strong>and</strong>ing in order to be readmitted. If you were suspended from the <strong>College</strong> for academic deficiency, itwill be necessary for you to petition the Committee on Academic Status through the Office <strong>of</strong> the Dean <strong>of</strong> Students <strong>and</strong> bereinstated to good st<strong>and</strong>ing prior to readmission.• If you received a medical withdrawal<strong>of</strong> the Dean <strong>of</strong> Students for details.• If you claim Virginia domiciliary status for in-state tuition privileges, you MUST submit the Application for Virginia In-StateTuition Privileges to the University Registrar’s Office BEFORE classes begin, regardless <strong>of</strong> what your former tuition statuswas, <strong>and</strong> regardless <strong>of</strong> the length <strong>of</strong> time you were away from the college• If you have attended any institution since last attending <strong>William</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>, <strong>and</strong> received prior approval for transfer credit,you must request an <strong>of</strong>ficial transcript from the institution you attended to be sent directly to the Office <strong>of</strong> the UniversityRegistrar, The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>William</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>, P.O. Only credits taken with priorapproval from the <strong>College</strong>, <strong>and</strong> while you were in good st<strong>and</strong>ing at <strong>William</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>, are eligible for transfer consideration.• International students on F1 or J1 visas who have been readmitted must contact the Reves Center for a new I-20 or DS-2019before they can re-enter the U.S. See www.wm.edu/revescenter/iss/visa/students/readmit.php for details.• Flex-Track students may wish to contact the Financial Aid Office about tuition <strong>and</strong> financial aid packages.INFORMATION CONCERNING CLASSIFICATION AS A VIRGINIA STUDENTAll determinations <strong>of</strong> in-state tuition eligibility are dictated by the regulations set forth by the State Council <strong>of</strong> Higher Education forVirginia (SCHEV).Eligibility for in-state tuition privileges is governed by Section 23-7.4 <strong>of</strong> the Code <strong>of</strong> Virginia. To be eligible for in-state status,Virginia must be the present, fixed home <strong>of</strong> the individual to which he/she returns following temporary absences <strong>and</strong> at which he/sheintends to stay indefinitely. Residence or physical presence in Virginia primarily to attend college does not entitle you to in-statetuition rates.Your primary purpose in moving to Virginia must have been to establish yourself as a resident <strong>of</strong> Virginia. Residence must have beencontinuous for 365 days preceding the first day <strong>of</strong> classes <strong>of</strong> the semester in which you wish to be considered as a resident. Allapplicants for admission to The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>William</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>, both new <strong>and</strong> re-entry, entry, who believe they are qualified for Virginia in-state tuition rates, must complete an application for Virginia in-state tuition.The deadline for the application is either the readmission application deadline, or the first day <strong>of</strong> classes <strong>of</strong> the semester for which in-state status is sought, whichever is earlier. No change in status will be granted for a semester er in progress. Applicants who claimprivileges based on Virginia domicile should complete the enclosed Application for Virginia Tuition Rates.
