2011 Model Car Nationals1/32 <strong>SCX</strong> NASCARS <strong>Rules</strong>AXLES FRONT: (Total width of wheels and axle must not exceed the original set up)1. Original front axle.2. Must be located in the original, un-modified front axle holders.3. Side play may be adjusted by adding axle washers.AXLES REAR: (Total width of wheels and axle must not exceed the original set up)1. Original rear axle and bushings only. No ball bearings.2. Must be located in the original, un-modified rear axle holders.3. Side play may be adjusted by adding axle washers.BODY:1. Only original un-modified <strong>SCX</strong> NASCAR style bodies are allowed.2. Rear wings and mirrors must be mounted on the body in the original position before the start of therace.3. If the rear wing becomes detached during the race, in must be re-attached before the start of the nextbracket.4. Mirrors, aerials, chipped or lost wing pieces don’t have to be re-attached during the race.5. The windows must remain as original and in place at all times.6. The body must not be altered in any way, and must be at least 1.0mm clear of the track surface.7. Only very minor sanding is allowed inside wheel arches to stop the tyres from rubbing.8. All the body screws must be in place. Any screws may be used. The screws may be left loose.CHASSIS:1. Only the original un-modified <strong>SCX</strong> Classic chassis is allowed. <strong>SCX</strong> Pro <strong>Nascar</strong>s or chassis are banned.<strong>SCX</strong> Aero and Cot cars can be used.2. The chassis and body must be from the original car as first purchased.3. Adding weight to any part of the chassis is allowed.4. Reinforcing or gluing parts of the chassis such as axle bushings, motor mounting posts is allowed.5. No Chassis magnets are allowed.GEARS:1. Original drive gear.2. Original pinion gear.


GROUND CLEARANCE:1. Minimum 0.5mm clearance under the entire chassis and body at all times.2. Any tyre changes or repairs must pass another Tech Check before the car can re-enter the race.GUIDE:1. <strong>SCX</strong> guide only.2. Any lead wire.3. Any Braid.4. Hot glue or glueing guide up to have good power connection is allowed.INTERIOR:1. Original un-modified interiors must be in place at all times.MOTOR:1. Original un-modified <strong>SCX</strong> 42B motors only.2. If the motor came with a motor wrapper type label, it must not be tampered with or modified in any way.(i.e. no venting)3. The motor may be secured by soldering a motor brace or gluing it to the chassis without disturbing themotor wrapper.4. The crimped motor can tabs holding the endbell must not be tampered with, otherwise it will bedisqualified.5. The copper links between the motor and guide maybe soldered to avoid any chance of loosing a goodconnection.6. Soldering of lead wire from motor tabs to rails is allowed.7. Motor cradle can be glued or taped.8. Resistor can be removed.WHEELS/Tyres FRONT: (No silicon tyres!)1. Only original <strong>SCX</strong> tyres or MJK’s are permitted.2. Sanding / truing front tyres is permitted.3. Tyres must touch the track surface when placed on the track.4. Original rims only.WHEELS/Tyres REAR: (No silicon tyres!)1. Only original <strong>SCX</strong> tyres or MJK-4230’s (20.5 x 9.8) are permitted.2. Sanding / truing tyres is OK.3. Traction glue (goo) and tyre conditioners/solutions are prohibited. Only Shellite is allowed to wipe thetyres clean!4. MJK replacement tyres must not exceed the tyre tread (width) measurements of the original <strong>SCX</strong> tyres.5. Under no circumstances are the tyres to be conditioned by means of soaking in tyre treatments,applying solutions of any kind, by using any mechanical means to soften / condition the tyres.The tyres must remain as they were originally purchased.6. Suspect tyres will be checked for shore rating compatibility (hardness), chemical odours andconsistency with tyres of the same make and brand.Any tyre tampering will result in disqualification.7. Original rims only.
