Neil Broome Interview 3April 25, 2004was always fighting, and people were always trying to single – other groups were alwayssingling and targeting Jewish kids.We sort of had a little bit of that, when I used to go to Hebrew school. Kids fromthe Catholic school would throw rocks at us. So, you had a sense. My parents were – wewere very cognizant that you had to be careful, and you had to be careful of where youwere going, and you had to know who was who and what’s what and not go to the wrongplace because you were Jewish – even in New York, which is pretty amazing – but, thatneighborhood that I grew up in – one part of Forest Hills was not Jewish, and the otherpart was.And people really didn’t feel welcome going into Forest Hills Gardens.
