Any alteration of the administrative units would have obstructedthe ongoing delimitation exercise. The Chairman wrote a letter to the <strong>Chief</strong> Minister, <strong>Madhya</strong> <strong>Pradesh</strong>requesting him that the changes made after February 15, 2004 should not be notified. Changing Face of <strong>Electoral</strong> India : Delimitation 2008<strong>Madhya</strong> <strong>Pradesh</strong>WHEREAS, in pursuance of the said Sub Section (2) of Section 9 of that Act, the Commission’sOrder No. 38 mentioned above and the above referred draft proposals of the Commission along withthe dissenting proposals of the Associate Member were also published in the local newspapers on 22ndand 23rd January, 2007 and given further publicity through radio and television and other media of masscommunication; andWHEREAS, in pursuance of the said Sub Section (2) of Section (9) of that Act, the Commissionalso issued a public Notice on 7th February, 2007 specifying the places and dates of its public sittings toconsider all objections and suggestions; andWHEREAS, in pursuance of the said Sub Section (2) of Section 9 of that Act, the Commission heldpublic sittings at Bhopal on 19th & 20th February, 2007, at Indore on 22nd February, 2007, and atJabalpur on 26th February 2007, and heard the members of the public and afford them full opportunityof making oral and written submissions, in addition to the written representations already sent, if any, tothe Commission; andWHEREAS, the Commission had discussion with the Associate Members on the points, suggestionsand views made in the public hearing and has considered all objections and suggestions made and/orreceived by it otherwise, in relation to its said proposals, in the light of the relevant provisions of theConstitution and the said Act;NOW THEREFORE, in pursuance of clause (d) of Sub Section 2 of Section 9 read with SubSection (2) of Section 4 of the said Act, as amended, the Delimitation Commission hereby determines asfollows:(1) The territorial Assembly Constituencies into which the State of <strong>Madhya</strong> <strong>Pradesh</strong> shall be dividedfor the purpose of elections to the Legislative Assembly of the State and the extent of each suchConstituency shall be as shown in Table A.(2) The territorial Parliamentary Constituencies into which the State of <strong>Madhya</strong> <strong>Pradesh</strong> shall bedivided for the purpose of elections to the House of the People and the extent of each suchConstituency shall be as shown in Table B.(3) Where the name of a Constituency as shown in Table A or Table B is distinguished by thebrackets and letters “(SC)” the seat in that Constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Castes.(4) Where the name of a Constituency as shown in Table A or Table B is distinguished by thebrackets and letters “(ST)” the seat in that Constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.TABLE–AASSEMBLY CONSTITUENCIES AND THEIR EXTENTSl.
