GENERAL INFORMATIONCONCEPTThe Management of the Complex Hospitalized Patient conference is designed toprovide physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with informationand skills to improve their care of hospitalized patients. Topics presented willfocus on special populations, such as geriatrics, and medical problems that span aspectrum of sub-specialties, such as end of life care, prognostication, and woundcare. In addition, we will examine growing trends, such as accountable careorganizations and information technology systems, and what that means for ourpatient population and care. We will also address upcoming regulatory changes andreview existing definitions. Optional modules from the American Board of InternalMedicine Maintenance of Certification will be available at an additional fee.This program has been designed to reflect the changing epidemiology of ourhospitalized patients, from age to obesity.
