The Hôtel Plaza Athénée, New York combines European grandeur with the intimacy and charm of a

Location
Located on Manhattan’s fashionable Upper East Side, one block from Central Park, the hotel sits in the
quiet elegance of this exclusive residential neighborhood and shopping district.
History
Built in 1927 as the Hotel Alrae, the landmark building became the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, New York in
1984. The hotel has undergone two multi-million dollar refurbishment projects in recent years – the
first was completed in 1994, and the second in 2010. The latest refurbishment includes the renovation
of the majority of guestrooms and suites, the addition of four premier luxury suites, a new lobby look, a
spacious fitness center and business center, and the addition of a new spa. Great care was taken to
ensure that the renovations respected the architectural tradition of the 1927 masterpiece, including the
restoration of the elegant canvas mural that dominates the hotel’s lobby.

Dining
The Arabelle is Hotel Plaza Athénée’s award winning in-house restaurant featuring fine, modern

seasonal menu options, Arabelle is the perfect spot to experience an unforgettable dining experience.
Afternoon Tea, with freshly baked scones and tea sandwiches, is a special treat not to be missed.
Bar/Lounge
The Bar Seine lounge is an exotic amber-lit blend of African, European and Asian-inspired furnishings
and décor as well as a unique bar menu. Home to the “crystal cosmopolitan,” Bar Seine is often cited as
one of the most romantic spots in the city.
Events & Meetings
Le Trianon is an elegantly appointed, versatile function space featuring subtle earth tones with ten
windows providing natural daylight. Le Trianon I and II can be expanded into one large space to house
banquets and receptions up to 100 guests, or converted into smaller, separate spaces to accommodate
smaller event needs.
The Private Dining Room is an intimate space that accommodates up to 24 guests. This space is the
perfect setting for small family gatherings, rehearsal dinners, wedding-related parties and birthdays.
Arabelle Restaurant and a section of Bar Seine may also be reserved for private parties, weddings,
corporate meetings and special occasions.

Fitness Center
In 2010, the Hotel Plaza Athénée opened a newly re-modeled and expanded fitness center with the
latest in TechnoGym equipment. The fitness center’s 4 window provide natural daylight and offer views
of the tree lined streets and lovely townhouses on East 64 th Street. Access to the fitness center is
complimentary and available 24 hours.
