VANE ROTARYACTUATORTol-O-Matic’s pneumatic vanerotary actuator offers an unbeatablecombination of high torque,compact design, low breakaway andlow price. This actuator family hasthree series of models: the l-inch bore1810 series, the 1 3 ⁄ 4 -inch bore 1817series and the 2 l ⁄ 2 -inch bore 1825series. Together they offer a torquerange from a few inch-pounds to ashigh as 325 inch-pounds.All series are based on a similar designof extruded aluminum housings withintegral stators; rotor shafts; Buna-Ndouble-lip vane and stator seal and aunique shaft and end cap design.The double-lip seal design reducesbreakaway by providing a tighter seal,resulting in higher efficiency. The sealdesign also prevents squeegeeing oflubricant from the circumference ofthe housing.The patented* shaft and end cap sealdesign eliminates the rubber O-ringcommonly used to seal the shaft andthe end cap. Instead, the shoulderingpart of the shaft is slightly longer thanthe housing. When assembled it causesa thin wall of plastic in the end capsto deflect, creating an air-tight sealwhich shows no wear after millions ofcycles. All Tol-O-Matic vane rotaryactuators are permanently pre-lubricatedat the factory.The actuators are available in 100°and 280° rotations, with single or double-endedshafts. All bore sizes can bebased-mounted with tapped mountingholes provided.
