SP Central RPMS EHR InterfaceScriptPro’s SP Central RPMS EHR Interface uses Health Level 7 (HL7) messaging standardto send and receive Electronic Health Record (EHR) messages that update data in both theScriptPro SP Central Pharmacy Management System and the Indian Health ServicesResource and Patient Management System (RPMS). With the SP Central RPMSEHR Interface, SP Central Pharmacy Management System receivesinbound HL7 messages that update key patient, prescriber, andprescription data while outbound HL7 order status messages aresent back to RPMS.The SP Central RPMS EHR Interface is composed of four possibleinterfaces. The Patient, Prescriber, and Prescription interfaces sendinbound messages to SP Central Pharmacy Management System fromRPMS. The Order Status interface sends outbound messages fromSP Central Pharmacy Management System back to RPMS.• Patient Interface – Patient records are automatically updated in SP Central PharmacyManagement System when a new record is added or an existing record is modified inRPMS. Key updates for patient records include patient ID, address, contact, third partyprovider, and allergy information. The Patient Interface is strictly inbound, meaningrecord updates are controlled by authorized personnel working in RPMS.• Prescription Interface – Prescriptions are electronically received by the SP CentralPharmacy Management System immediately following physician order entry.Prescription data entry is simplified and made safer as the patient, prescriber, instructions, written drug, quantity, and refills available are pre-populated forthe operator.• Order Status Interface – Order messages, such as Verified or Cancelled/Returned toStock and refilled prescriptions, are sent from the SP Central Pharmacy ManagementSystem back to RPMS. By having access to this data, prescribers can better managepatient prescription therapy. The Prescriber Interface is also available – Prescriber records can be automatically updatedin SP Central Pharmacy Management System when a new record is added or an existingrecord is modified in RPMS. Key updates include license, address, and contact information, etc. The Prescriber Interface, like the Patient Interface, is also strictly inbound. With SP Central RPMS EHR Interface, you will increase productivity, improve patient care, avoid per prescription cost and streamline communication between the outpatient pharmacyand physician.Note: The RPMS EHR Interface configuration is conducted by Medsphere ® , not ScriptPro, and must be contractedwith Medsphere ® .For more information call: 800.606.7628 • 913.384.1008 • www.scriptpro.com
