NUNA’sservices at Giant Mine cover a wide range including maintainingsite facilities and equipment, underground access and hoisting andpumping equipment, site security, pipework upgrade and demolitionof bulk fuel storage and selected buildings. NUNA reconstructedthe nearby Baker Creek, specifically the rehabilitation of the existingchannel over a linear distance of 600 m (1,969'), creation of a newstream channel and construction of a 21 m (70') clear span steelbridge to support future heavy equipment traffic.Giant Mine Freeze Optimization StudyUnder the Giant Mine care and maintenance contract, Deton’Cho/Nuna Joint Venture provided construction services to support a trialproject designed to optimize methods of freezing the undergroundarsenic storage chambers.
