(<strong>To</strong> <strong>be</strong> <strong>published</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Gazette</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>India</strong>, Extraord<strong>in</strong>ary, <strong>Part</strong> <strong>II</strong>, Section 3, Subsection(ii), dated <strong>the</strong> 13 th Septem<strong>be</strong>r, 2007)MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTSNOTIFICATIONNew Delhi, <strong>the</strong> 13.09.2007S.O. 1539(E).-- In exercise <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> powers conferred by clause (b) <strong>of</strong> sub-section (1) <strong>of</strong> section 12and section 13 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 <strong>of</strong> 1986) read with rule 10 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, <strong>the</strong> Central Government hereby recognises <strong>the</strong> laboratoriesspecified <strong>in</strong> column (2) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Table given <strong>be</strong>low as environmental laboratories to carry out <strong>the</strong>functions entrusted to such laboratories under <strong>the</strong> said Act, and <strong>the</strong> rules and <strong>the</strong> persons specified<strong>in</strong> column (3) as Government Analysts for <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> analysis <strong>of</strong> samples <strong>of</strong> air, water, soil oro<strong>the</strong>r substances sent for analysis by <strong>the</strong> Central Government or <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficer empowered under section11 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said Act, for a period specified <strong>in</strong> column (4) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Table aforesaid, and for that purposemakes <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g amendments <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> notification <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Government <strong>of</strong> <strong>India</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong>Environment and Forests, num<strong>be</strong>r, S.O. 1174(E), dated <strong>the</strong> 18 th July, 2007, namely :-In<strong>the</strong> Table appended to <strong>the</strong> said notification, after serial num<strong>be</strong>r 48 and <strong>the</strong> entries relat<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong>reto, <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g serial num<strong>be</strong>r and entries shall <strong>be</strong> <strong>in</strong>serted, namely :-Sl.No.Name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> LaboratoryTABLEName <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> GovernmentAnalystRecognition wi<strong>the</strong>ffect from andvalid up to(1) (2) (3) (4)“49 M/s.
