It may be useful to try andestablish a regular routine around dailyactivities. Try writing things down andhave several calendars and clocks on viewto remind you of the date and time.Use a diary so that you do not forgetimportant appointments or stickreminders in prominent places. You mayfind it helpful to use the AppointmentsList later in this <strong>Portfolio</strong>.¢ ¢ eg. where your arm is in relation to objects. You may bump intothings especially on the affected side.¢ eg. pins and needles, numbness or pain.¢ Sometimes stroke can affect vision. It can take time for your eyesight tosettle, so it is recommended that you wait six months after your strokebefore having your eyes tested.However, some problems can occuras a result of damage to those partsof the brain that help us to interpretwhat we see, even though the eye itselfmay be working normally. If you areexperiencing visual problems, pleasespeak with your GP or optician.¢ eg. you may have forgotten how to use them or are less coordinated.¢ eg. cooking a meal, making a hot drink whilst talking.12
