He is member ofVATSIM. When I sawhim flying on VATSIMI said, “Dad, I want tofly this!”He said, “You have tobe a member ofVATSIM.”I wondered whatVATSIM was. Soon Ifound out VATSIMwas the network,which connected flightsimulator to theinternet so you cansee other playersflying in your ownhome, which was inGlasgow!In order to become amember of VATSIM, Ihad to be 13 yearsold, so, after I turned13, a few days later, Isigned up to be amember. I flew onVATSIM every weekand when I saw myDad had othersoftware, which Ithought might berelated to onlineflying. I asked himwhat it was."Ah," he said. "This is<strong>British</strong> <strong>Airways</strong><strong>Virtual</strong>.”Right from this firstintroduction, I wantedto join <strong>British</strong> <strong>Airways</strong><strong>Virtual</strong>. He told methat I would have totake an exam and thatI would have to be 16to join BAV. Anotherslow three years Iwaited and waited andwaited until I finallyturned 16.When I was 15 yearsold, I found out mydad had left <strong>British</strong><strong>Airways</strong> <strong>Virtual</strong> as hewas very busy. Ithought I had missedan opportunity and itleft me hoping hewould return back to<strong>British</strong> <strong>Airways</strong> <strong>Virtual</strong>when he retires. I canstill see his old callsign,BAW1158,which is being used byanother member. Healso stopped flying onVATSIM for the samereasons, and he hasn'tflown since March2008. It was hard to
