County: has secured $53,300from a Boating and Waterway Trails State grant and additional match funding is pendingAcquisition Plan Category: Recreation and EducationProject Overview: In 2002, the District, Sonoma County Water Agency and Regional ParksDepartment collaborated to acquire 305 acres along the middle reach of the Russian River for aregional park. Since that time, Regional Parks has been constructing phased public access andrecreational improvements on the property. Phase 3 of the 2004 Riverfront Park Project MasterPlan includes trails and boat portages, picnic areas, drinking fountains and restroom enclosures,and extension of the park driveway and additional parking.
