Leopardstown societies welcome new membersAbove: Glamorous members of theWednesday Ladies in party moodat the society’s 20th anniversarycelebration last year.The Green Room Café -the golf centre’s social hub.The Leopardstown <strong>Golf</strong> Centre is ‘home’to the largest community of lady golfersin Ireland.The centre hosts twenty-five establishedladies golf societies and the ILGU-affiliatedLeopardstown Ladies <strong>Golf</strong> Club, whichcombine to create playing opportunities and alively social scene for a substantial number ofenthusiasts every week.And the good news for lady golfers,attracted by the set-up at the thrivingLeopardstown <strong>Golf</strong> Centre in Foxrock, is thatthere are membership opportunities availablefor the 2013 season.The Leopardstown Ladies <strong>Golf</strong> Club andthe Monday to Friday societies currently havevacancies for new members.LEOPARDSTOWN LADIES GOLF CLUB (ILGU AFFILIATED)New members are warmly welcomed andget into the swing of things immediately.There are excellent organisational structuresin place with each society having its owncommittee and social secretary.Each of the twenty-five societies avails of afixed tee-time segment on a specific day eachweek on the beautifully maintained 18-holecourse, which means that members can plantheir golf in advance.There is a strong competitive spirit amongstthe ladies groups but the emphasis is more onsocial interaction between members in arelaxed sporting environment.The Leopardstown Ladies <strong>Golf</strong> Club,formed and affiliated to the ILGU in 2007, is aseparate entity although it embraces membersof many of the local ladies societies.
