BECOME TOMORROW’S STARS
When Jaylyn took the stage to deliver his Kid of the Year speech, he didn’t think
twice about where his new-found confi dence came from. When Chantel Sanchez
fi rst walked into the Boys & Girls Club at age fi ve, she wasn’t looking to develop her
character and leadership --they were a natural result of her participation. Through
programs, activities, and everyday interactions, the Club helps children develop a
positive self-identity and values that enable them to become responsible citizens
and leaders who make meaningful contributions and live successful lives.
With a goal to develop leaders in our community, the Character &
Leadership Development core program empowers youth to support and
infl uence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others,
develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process, and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.
Through a variety of programs, the caring mentors and role models at the clubs inspire children to become successful leaders in
their communities. These programs include:

Junior Staff Program
Some of the greatest contributions the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix gives to our community and our kids are the
life-long lessons taught every

day, and every hour at the club. Those lessons help today’s kids develop into tomorrow’s stars. From
Chantel to Kaylee, Daisy to Jaylyn, Denise to Jordan, and all the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix Club kids, thank you
