As a company who is in the business of fun and
entertainment, Diamond Jo Casino’s commitment
to community service in the Tri-States
extends to meet some very serious needs.
“We believe what’s best for our community is
best for our business,” Todd Moyer, Diamond
Jo Casino’s general manager said. “We celebrate
community spirit by encouraging team members
to volunteer. We strive to use our talents and to
invest in making our community a better place.”
Over the years, Diamond Jo has distributed
millions of dollars to Dubuque Racing Association
to help fund local non-profits. Last year
alone, Diamond Jo distributed more than $3
million to DRA. Diamond Jo also joined forces
with DRA and others to provide a $100,000
challenge gift for flood relief following the
July 2011 storm. Their leadership helped
launch the Community Foundation of Greater
Dubuque with a gift of $450,000 in 2003, and
in 2007 an $8 million gift of land and cash

helped National Mississippi River Museum
and Aquarium double the size and scope of
their campus. Diamond Jo is truly a community
partner.
Diamond Jo has also been a partner with Mercy
Medical Center, most recently with its
$100,000 challenge gift for the new intensive
care unit. “The new ICU was designed to help
patients recover comfortably. By supporting
Mercy’s ICU, we are helping improve the
quality of life in Dubuque,” said Todd.
Diamond Jo Casino has helped improve the
quality of life in Dubuque and the Tri-States in
many ways through gifts, sponsorships, and
volunteering. Diamond Jo team members gave
almost 5,000 volunteer hours in 2011 to help
local non-profit organizations.
