Grades 5 and 6 wereinvited to join the older students for the meal, donated byCatering by Andrew, and the singing and dancing thatensued. Rabbi David Ma'ayan, Middle and Upper <strong>School</strong>Talmud teacher, delivered a Dvar Torah. Other highlightsduring Chol HaMoed Sukkot included a pizza lunch in thesukkah and other opportunities for dancing.FAMILY LEARNING SUNDAY MORNINGThe next session of Elementary <strong>School</strong> Family learning isscheduled for Sunday from 9:45-11 a.m. in the BrenerBuilding lunch room. Rabbi Avi Bossewitch of the Upper<strong>School</strong> Limudei Kodesh faculty will lead the program on thetopic of Shabbat. Babysitting will be available.<strong>Maimonides</strong> <strong>School</strong>'s first ninth-grade graduation, 1950.Mark your calendars for a special <strong>Maimonides</strong> <strong>School</strong> 70thanniversary presentation on Saval Campus Motza’eiShabbat, Nov. 10. Some of the school’s earliest studentswill reminisce and reflect on their <strong>Maimonides</strong> <strong>School</strong>experiences, as well as on Jewish life in Boston in the 1940sand ‘50s. Keynote speaker will be Rabbi Reuven Cohn ’65of the Upper <strong>School</strong> Judaic Studies faculty. Rabbi Cohnliterally grew up with the school. His father, PrincipalEmeritus Rabbi M..J. Cohn, z’’l, was named principal in1948, and his mother, Devorah Cohn, was a teacher andvolunteer leader. Alumni from the school’s first 12graduating classes, as well as other early students, havebeen invited to this event and to a reunion the followingmorning.
