MARATHON FR1Thermalert ®MARATHON FR1The Marathon FR1 FiberOptic ratio thermometersmeasure temperatures from 500 to 2500°C (932 to4532°F). These thermometers consist of a ruggedfiber optic cable plus optical head assemblyconnected to a housing. The housing containsa detector, processing electronics, internal userinterface/LEDdisplay, and termination connectionsfor field wiring. FR1 thermometers permit measurementof targets in harsh industrial environmentsthat are otherwise inaccessible, very hot, or locatedwithin strong electromagnetic fields.The accuracy of FR1 thermometers varies less than±0.1% of temperature over the ambient operatingrange of the electronics from 0 to 60°C (32 to140°F).The fixed-focus optical head consists of asmall stainless steel cylindrical housing and achromaticlenses capable of withstanding ambient temperaturesup to 200°C (392°F). The optical headaccommodates an air-purge accessory to preventlens contamination.
