Australian Stock Horse Futurity, Maturity & CampdraftRules and Regulations of Entry1. All horses for Futurity/Maturity/Challenge must be registered with the ASHS (exception under 12 yearsYouth Challenge Horses) Proof of registration to be provided with nominations (photocopy of reg.Papers).2. All horses entered in the Futurity/Maturity/Challenge must compete in every section of their appropriateage classes or forfeit all points gained.3. Australian dress and equipment is to be worn and used in Futurity/Maturity/Challenges. All horsescompeting must be properly bridled with a snaffle bit.4. Each section of the Futurity/Maturity/Challenge will have a different judge. In the event of a tie the threejudges will use their discretion to find a winner.5. Judges decision is final. All competitors will strictly adhere to this ruling. Any complaints will be directedto the chief Steward.6. The nominated horse must have the same handler/rider in all its classes. Any alteration is at the discretionof the committee.7. Entry fees will not be refunded except in exceptional circumstances.8. After the close of entries a draw will be conducted for the order of exhibits, commencing with theYearlings. Numbers will be issued in the appropriate order and must be worn during the classes.9. The owner/s of Stallions, who have donated services, reserve the right to reject any mare they deemunsuitable. The service is non-transferable. After one breeding season the service will become null andvoid. Vet fees and agistment costs are the mare owner’s responsibility.10. Competitors compete at their own risk and the committee reserves the right to alter, delete or adjudicateon any event.11. All competitors under the age of 18 years must wear a skull cap at all times when handling or riding ahorse and are not allowed to handle or ride a stallion/colt.12. Cattle working contest: This event will be judged on cattle handling ability; to be conducted in the cutoutyard and the main arena. The horse is to display control cutting out a beast in the yard, working the beast inthe open arena and circling both ways, with the one gate peg being the final objective. Undesirable traits,which will be penalized, include biting, striking, running over the beast, running past the beast and using thefence to turn the beast. Fall of horse or rider, turn tail, crashing beast into fence unnecessarily will be cause fordisqualification.13. All competitors must be financial ASHS members or have taken out Temporary Membership for theevent.14. Horses in the Campdrafts do not have to be registered ASHS.15. Horses competing in the Campdrafts are restricted to TWO (2) first round starts with the exception ofcompeting in the Junior and Juvenile.16. Preference of run starts in the Campdrafts will be given to competitors who have also competed in theFuturities/Maturity or Challenges.17. All horses arriving at the Warwick Showground’s MUST comply with DEEDI (DPI) Regulations oftravel.18. Entries OPEN on the 11 th of April and Close with the Secretary of the Eastern Downs Branch ASHS onWednesday 25 th April, 2012. It is expected that the Campdraft nominations will fill prior to this date. Allentries must be accompanied with the entry fees, copy of membership card and copy of horse’s registrationpapers.
