Weestablished a Legal Support Cell that has over the past several months provided guidanceto LGBT people in India who do not have the means to get professional legal help.Given the large number of queries that the Legal Cell received, they even came up witha Legal Guide for LGBT Indians. The Coming Out Project brought together queer people who shared their personal experiencesand along with the team at Mingle put together the publication “Living LifeOpenly: A Coming Out Guide for gay & lesbian Indians” which is now available free ofcost. One of Mingle’s unique initiatives was the LGBT History Course, a course with an Indianperspective. More than 150 students across India are taking the correspondencecourse right now. The Faith Issues booklet and the Safe-sex campaign were also highlyappreciated within the community. We also launched the report of the country’s first Workplace Environment Survey withthe focus on LGBT employees. The report was an eye-opener for companies across theboard that realized the importance of an inclusive workplace for enhanced productivityand employee satisfaction. Mingle has since then been actively engaging with numerousorganizations that have shown an interest in our work through our corporate outreachprogram called “Breaking the Glass Closet”.In November last year, we helped Hong Kong based ‘Community Business’ launch India’sfirst Corporate Resource Book on LGBT Diversity and Inclusion issues.3
