<strong>Centre</strong> Advisory BoardThe <strong>Centre</strong> Advisory Board contributes to the development <strong>of</strong> strategies and vision <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Centre</strong> and facilitates improvedlinkages between the <strong>Centre</strong>, industry, government and the wider community to facilitate uptake <strong>of</strong> research outcomes. TheBoard provides advice on research directions, centre structure, membership and commercialisation.The <strong>Centre</strong> Advisory Board held its inaugural meeting in May 2006. Key on the list <strong>of</strong> its discussion points was its roleand the recruitment <strong>of</strong> a Chair <strong>for</strong> the Board. Board members agreed that their focus would be strategic and long term,to develop end-user engagements, to assist in encouraging cross-nodal team research and in leveraging <strong>ARC</strong> funding tosecure long term funding <strong>for</strong> the <strong>Centre</strong>. International research was identifi ed as a strength <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Centre</strong> and pursuingend-user linkages and developments in this area was considered a priority. An eminent business leader has been recruitedas the Chair from 2007.
