It provides outstandingcleaving performance for large diameter fibers from 230 µm up to 1000µm in diameter. The unique and patent pending cleaving process generatestypical cleave angles of less than 0.5 degrees.The AutoCleaver LDF - FITEL edition is compatible with the FITEL S183/S184 fusion splicers. The fiber is cleaved to the correct length and since thecleaver accepts the standard FITEL S710S fiber holders, the cleaved fiber canbe directly transferred to the splicer with no risk of touching or damagingthe fiber end.During cleaving, the fiber coating is clamped by a touch-operated tensionclamp with linear inserts. The inserts are quickly interchangeable tomatch the diameter of the fiber coating.A v-groove clamp block and a fiber height adjuster are selected tomatch the diameter of the fiber cladding. These parts work together as afiber handling kit to ensure optimum cleaving performance for a particularfiber range and they have to be selected from the Selection Guide Matrixwhen you purchase the cleaver. The parts are easily exchanged by the operatorwhen a different fiber size is to be cleaved.The built-in microprocessor controls all parameters and settings, suchas fiber positioning, clamping, tension and the exact position and speed ofthe diamond blade. This control of sensitive parameters guarantees a highcleaving repeatability and accuracy.The AutoCleaver LDF - FITEL edition also accepts the use of NYFORSLD fiber holders used with the standard AutoCleaver LDF. In this case thelinear inserts are replaced by a distance plate. This provides a versatile useof the cleaver for operations when splicing is not required.The cleaver is designed to generate a minimum amount of fiber waste,typically less than 20 mm. An automatic waste disposal system removesany hazardous fiber scraps. Selection Guide Matrix – AutoCleaver LDF TM - FITEL editionA fiber handling kit is required for cleaver operation and should be selected when purchasing the cleaver. Select the v-groove clampblock and the fiber height adjuster to match the fiber cladding. Select the linear inserts to match the fiber coating.
