Athletes, or their representatives, have aresponsibility to be in compliance of national legislation in both thecountry of origin, return, and the host nation of the Event; wherenecessary Athletes must contact local government authorities orveterinary advisors for information regarding animal health requirementsand transport legislation. Within the European Union (EU), this includesEU Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 concerning the protection ofanimals during transport within the Member States of the EU.5.
