Operable glass facade system

The Living Facade
In response to demand for a more cost effective alternative to it’s acclaimed
Fullview Series operable glass facade, AGP designed and built the Fineline
Series, a versatile operable louvre facade system which is custom designed and
manufactured to suit the clients requirements.
The AGP Fineline Series, is the original operable
glass louvre system, suitable mainly for apartment
wintergarden spaces. For greater weather protection,
the Fineline-XT system features the louvre blades
sealing against the outside face of the mullions.
In addition to providing a striking facade presence,
AGP Fineline Series louvres ensures the amount of
all year round liveable space is maximised. Individual
users are able to choose between opening up a space
to the natural environment during pleasant weather,
or closing it off when protection from inclement
weather is required.
With AGP Fineline Series, the bottom two louvres
in each bay are fixed to act as a safety balustrade
whilst giving the appearance of being part of a
complete louvre facade.
The operable glass louvres are supported by specially
designed aluminium split mullions that have the
operation mechanisms contained within. These
mullions can be fixed in between, or on the outside
of the floor slabs, depending on the architectural
preference. And wIth no visible linkage mechanisms,
the system has a neat, clean and attractive
appearance.
These support mullions and operating mechanisms
are manufactured and assembled in AGP’s factory
before being transported to the site and installed by
AGP’s team of skilled and experienced tradesman.
Ephraim Island Apartments, Gold Coast
A unique and prestigious residential address, with its own
dedicated bridge from the mainland off the Gold Coast,
Ephraim Island (pictured above) offers its residents a truly
luxurious and private experience.
With the island divided into five precincts, with a
combination of apartment buildings, villas and beachfront
homes, the architects from Mirvac design needed to provide
different facade treatments to define the buildings
AGP Fineline Series louvres were used as feature screens on
a number of these apartments buildings, and in addition
to their aesthetic appeal, they also provide many practical
benefits, to ensure apartment owners can utilise their
balcony spaces all year round.

Custom Design
Every Fineline operable glass louvre system
is custom designed and built to the specific
requirements of the client.
AGP can design a Fineline Series operable glass louvre system to
suit almost any application. With aluminium mullions that can be
installed at heights up to 4000mm and glass louvre blades that can
span up to 1500mm (subject to wind loads), this system can be
easily integrated into most modern building facade designs.
The glass is available in clear, low iron, tinted or colourback, the
mullions in a range of powdercoat and anodised options, the
handrail design options are limitless, and the switching control to
open and close the louvres can be integrated with other systems to
provide a fully seamless electronic control system.

Linear actuators are mounted on the inside surface of the mullions
above head level. They are totally noise free and are able to
completely open the louvres in under 20 seconds.
The louvre mechanisms are made of 316 marine grade stainless steel.
The axles are contained in nylon bushes, meaning that no lubrication
is required and consistently quiet operation is achieved.
The louvre blades are 12mm clear toughened glass with bevelled
edges to offer drip protection in the enclosed space and better
drainage to the exterior face of the glass.
