Penny Kastendieck,Jean Schiltz and Joyce Kendrickthought some peoplewould enjoy listening to abook review without having toread the book. It also seemed like a great compliment to the Book Club already establishedat the Ranch. The first Story Tellers Club meeting was held in September2008. As of today, the club has 140 members signed up for the 2011-2012 season!To be a member, residents must pay a membership fee of $50.00. The membershipfee includes 8 meetings and a luncheon. The club meets once a month on the 4thMonday, starting in September and ending in June. There is no meeting in Decemberdue to the holidays. Meetings begin around 1:00pm until around 2:30pm.There is a different presenter at each meeting that presents a preselected book.President of HRSTC, Lelia Wright says, “A special invitation is extended to anymale or female that wants to hear about characters from the past, history itemsor just wonderful entertainment should join this club.” Come to our first meetingSeptember 26th at 1:00 in the Ballroom. Our speaker will be Jan Stanford Gurleyon “Daughters of the Desert” The Remarkable Life of Gertrude Bell by GeorginaHowell. Anyone can come to the meetings and pay $10.00 for that meeting.
