Issue April 2012New waves in the Doxa Deo FamilyThe definition of true greatnessAlan Platt (Visionary Leader)True greatness is not just being successful ourselves, but producing others who are just asor even more successful. Isn’t that what the Lord Jesus spent His life doing on earth?True success comes only when every generation continues todevelop the next generation. Not being devoted to developing, growing and equipping others is one of the main reasons why somany ministries fail to remain spiritually relevant after the passing oftheir founders. Our goal in Doxa Deo is to invest in our people andpartners as leaders who will in turn have the ability to developothers. If we are truly like Jesus in ministry, those who we raise upwill not only do what we have done, but greater works. We shouldnot only celebrate the outstanding gifts of people and partners in ourministry, but believe in the influencing, developing and releasing ofthe next generation. This is the ultimate mark of greatness.Through the Doxa Deo ministry God calls people to step up asleaders and develop those around them. In development God worksthrough leaders to sharpen the visions, values and ventures ofothers. In this way God is producing a next generation of leaders tomultiply His influence and continue with His passion for citytransformation. May God’s dream for city transformation continue tolive through the heart of the Doxa Deo ministry for many generationsto come.BlessingsAlanJoin Alan on Facebook!

Thisgave our partners the chance to walk through each of the “CrossStations” during the weekend. We had a beautifully constructedempty grave on stage that brought tears and joy to everyone as theyentered the “tomb of Christ” and read the amazing story. Our Easter experience was followed by a series called “Fullness outof Emptiness” that gives an introduction to the establishment of thechurch as a “going-body” of believers that impacts people andmakes a difference in society. We launched an “iTouch” week wherepartners were invited to give at least one hour of their time to touchpeople through projects in Centurion. These ranged from the WinterWarmer Project to outreaches to street children and old age homes. We are also excited about the introduction of two red chairs on stagecalled our chairs of honour. These chairs are meant for our wonderfulvolunteers! It is a highlight during our worship services when wecelebrate and honour our volunteers for the impact they makethrough their loving service in the campus. They never know who willbe honoured on a specific day.
