Holding a NationalC Badge (or higher) Qualification would be an advantage.4.2.3 In the event that there are not enough applicants for position of Selector, persons deemed topossess significant knowledge of the game of netball and/or relevant experience as a player, umpireor club team coach by the Appointments Panel will be considered for appointment as Selectorsi) Have a minimum of 1 year Representative Coaching experience (preferred) and/or attended andsuccessfully completed an approved Netball NSW Selectors’ Workshop within the previous four (4)years.ii) Playing ExperienceHave played or be playing at a minimum of CNA Representative Level.5. 5.1 Nomination forms for all teams will be available from the CNA website, or on day of trials.5.2 Athletes will be responsible for submitting completed application forms on the day.5.3 Where an athlete fails to attend selections and that athlete believes that special orcompassionate reasons prevented them from attending, a written application may be made toCowra Netball Association. The reason(s) for non-attendance must be disclosed and include, whereappropriate, relevant documentary evidence. Cowra Netball Association will determine if the athleteis to be permitted to be considered for selection.6. 6.1 Closing dates for selection trials will be set two (2) weeks in advance and distributed to allaffiliated Associations.6.2 All nominees will be informed of the selection policy on the day/website prior to thecommencement of selections. N.B. This will typically occur by advertisement on the Cowra NetballAssociation website.6.3 The executive committee will keep for two years, records of selection trial games detailing thenumber of games each nominee has played, and in what position.7. 7.1 Grounds for ReplacementVersion 1 Released 24/10/12 Reviewed 24/10/13
Cowra Netball Association Selection Policy & Procedure Document7.1.1 A player who withdraws from a rep team will notify CNA in writing.7.1.2 Breach of Discipline: A player being considered for replacement due to a breach of discipline,including failure to observe any relevant Netball NSW policy, the Netball NSW Code of Behaviour orthe CNA Player Code of Conduct.7.2 Replacement Process7.2.1 If a selected player is unable to continue or is removed as a representative of a CNARepresentative Team, the procedure for a replacement athlete is as follows:i) The Executive Committee will be consulted.ii) Consideration will first be given to identified shadow player.iii) Consideration will then be given to other identified players from the selection process should thisbe necessary.iv) The selectors will then fill this position with the athlete judged most suitable; possessing therequired degree of skill and showing consistent performance.8. 8.1 All players selected into a CNA Representative Team OR Development Squad are expected toattend all such training sessions as scheduled by the Coach unless extenuating circumstances arise.Players who are unable to attend training must contact the Team Manager no later than midday onthe day of training.8.2 All athletes selected into a CNA Representative Team are advised that they must be available totake the court for all games as scheduled throughout the Championships.8.3 All athletes must attend and reside with the team for the entire Championships.8.4 Up to ten (10) athletes will be selected into Representative Teams. Up to two (2) players willthen (all ages) be selected as shadow players. CNA Representative Convenor and Coaching Convenorwill advised of teams before announcement on the CNA website.8.5 A letter of congratulations will be sent to all successful applicants on behalf of Cowra NetballAssociation.8.6 Any State Age or State Championships Representative player who withdraws from a team afterbeing selected without a reason approved by the Head Coach and Representative Convenor will notbe permitted to trial for a maximum penalty period of 12 months, i.e. a player who withdraws in2013, will be automatically ineligible to trial for a position in any 2014 CNA Representative team/s.8.7 Any State League Representative player who withdraws from a team after being selectedwithout a reason approved by the Head Coach and Representative Convenor will not be permittedVersion 1 Released 24/10/12 Reviewed 24/10/13
