MFL NewsSpanish club will be starting up again this half term andtakes place in L4 on Monday lunchtimes. The club isopen to all Years 8 and 9 and will involve lots of games,fun activities and conversational Spanish.Another busy term lies ahead for MFL starting with aweek long celebration of all things European. FromMonday, 27 th September we will be holding a series ofactivities to celebrate European Day of Languages,including quizzes, design competitions and a speciallydesigned European menu in the school canteen.The department are also getting ready forthe return leg of the German exchange toBad Neustadt which will take place justbefore half term.FarewellsPHS said farewell to Tony Pitt who has retired after49 years of teaching. He first joined PHS as theyoungest deputy in 1973 and retired in 1996, buthe returned almost immediately to set up thePsychology Department, which is still flourishing.Also retiring from school were Kathleen Owen, whostarted as a technology teacher in 1999, beforerunning the Health and Social Care Department andChris Noble who has worked in the ICT and ScienceDepartments for more than 10 years.Jenny Rose is also leaving after nine years at theschool to become Head of Modern ForeignLanguages at St Augustine's <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> inRedditch.International News<strong>Pershore</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>'s international links continue todevelop and recently the school was successful in its bidto take part in another Comenius project. This project willrun from 2010-12 and will involve schools from acrossEurope working together. One of the greatbenefits is that it will enable some pupils totravel abroad and work collaboratively withstudents in European schools.
